Will You Call on Thomas to Resign?

Written by DC GOP on January 05, 2012, 03:03 PM
Federal authorities have charged Ward 5 DC Democratic Councilmember Harry Thomas on 2 felony charges. He is charged with filing false tax returns and theft of government funds. The DC Attorney General also sued Mr. Thomas in a civil charge for a $1,000,000 but settled for a $300,000 penalty without Mr. Thomas admitting guilt.

As of today, DC Council Chairman Kwame Brown has refused to publicly call on Mr. Thomas to resign. Under DC law, Mr. Thomas can remain in office until placed in jail. If you would like to contact Chairman Brown, please do so. If you want to contact Councilmember Harry Thomas and demand his resignation, please do so. Below is their contact info.

In 2010, after the Democratic Primary, former Ward 5 Republican DC Council candidate, Tim Day & the DCGOP were the first to report irregularities from TeamThomas. Later, the Attorney General began its own investigation. Ward 1 School Board member, Patrick Mara, was the first elected official to call on Mr. Thomas to resign. Councilmember Thomas still has TeamThomas listed on the taxpayer funded DC Council website.
