Mayor Gray Nominates a DCGOP to the DCBOEE

DC Mayor Vincent Gray nominated Stephen Danzansky to the DC Board of Elections and Ethics. Mr. Danzansky is a registered DC Republican and would fulfill the non-majority position on the Board of Elections and Ethics. The Board of Elections and Ethics has not had a Republican member for 3 elections and over 2 years.

Washington, DC: The DC Republican Committee made the following statement today in response to Mayor Vincent Gray's nomination of Stephen I. Danzansky to the DC Board of Elections and Ethics. Mr. Danzansky would fulfill the non-majority position on the DC Board of Elections and Ethics which has been vacated for 3 election cycles.
"On behalf of the 30,000 registered Republicans and the DC Republican Committee, we want to thank the Mayor for nominating Mr. Danzansky to the DC Board of Elections and Ethics. This is an important step in the right direction of addressing ethics reform in our city. Mr. Danzansky is an excellent nomination and will bring the highest level of respect, dignity and ethics to the DC Board of Elections and Ethics," stated Bob Kabel, Chairman of the DC Republican Committee.
"We are encouraged by the Mayor's nomination and look forward in working with Councilmember Bowser and the DC Council in advancing Mr. Danzansky's nomination," concluded Kabel.
